When Bilal is accused of being a terrorist and jailed awaiting trial, Eric tries to stay connected by pushing aside his own classical aspirations in order to learn big brother's jazz style. Separated by prison bars and religious convictions, the brothers scat and be-bop through their shared language of music. As his brother's trial progresses, Eric becomes disillusioned and struggles to decide if he believes the charges levied against his beloved older brother, or if false accusations make him a beleaguered martyr to a prejudiced, paranoid nation.

The Oak Cliff Cultural District (OCCD), in partnership with the Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts, is thrilled to announce its first-ever fundraiser: the Oak Cliff Cultural District Jigsaw Puzzle Competition with Honorary Chair, Dallas County Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia. This exciting, high-energy event will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Tyler Street Church located at 927 West 10^th Street Dallas 75208.

As Dallas prepares to welcome the world for World Cup this summer, the OCCD is launching this inaugural competition to support the organization's mission of assisting the twenty local arts organizations and the local community in showcasing the vibrant culture of Oak Cliff.

"This is more than just a game; its a way for our community to piece together a brighter future for the arts in the Oak Cliff Cultural District," says Todd Hedrick, chair of the Oak Cliff Cultural District. "Whether youre a serious 'puzzler' or just looking for a fun morning with friends or family members, this event supports the vital work of preparing our district for the global stage."

Scarborough Renaissance Festival celebrates its 45th season April 4May 25, 2026, in Waxahachie, Texas (2511 FM 66, approximately 30 minutes south of downtown Dallas). The popular outdoor festival is open Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day Monday from 10 a.m.7 p.m.

Visitors step into a re-created 16th-century English village filled with immersive entertainment for all ages, including full-combat jousting, birds of prey exhibitions, live music and comedy, interactive performances, games of skill and human-powered rides. Mixology Mondays classes are hosted weekly at The Parlor, inside Sheraton Dallas, from 5-6pm. The cocktail featured varies weekly and reservations are required. The cost is $30/per person which does not include tax and gratuity. The interactive mixology classes are led by the hotels talented Mixologist, Adam, who has explored more than 43 countries and worked at luxury properties and bars across the world. Guests can have fun mixing a cocktail and then enjoy the delicious creation. Reservations are required.
