Tristan Hallman

Tristan Hallman, who covers City Hall for the Dallas Morning News (DMN), will discuss his that coverage from a journalist’s viewpoint at the Oct. 23 meeting of Indivisible Oak Cliff (IOC). The meeting starts at 6:30 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff, 3839 W. Kiest Blvd., Dallas.

Mr. Hallman graduated from Granbury High School and studied political science at St. Edward’s University and studied his craft at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.  He interned for the Houston Chronicle/San Antonio Express-News Austin Bureau, the Texas Tribune, Gannett’s Washington Bureau, the New York Times, and the DMN (in Washington and Dallas).  His work has appeared in various publications. He has covered City Hall for 2 years and previously covered the Dallas Police Department.

He has covered a wide range of issues including the removal of General Lee’s statutes, poverty rates for children in Dallas, the protection of Lake Cliff property, issues involving the police and firemen’s pensions, and many more. 

A variety of postcards are provided at the meeting for those who wish to address issues with elected officials. The meeting is open to the public.
