DALLAS, November 3, 2020 — Despite the 26,000 cases reported among Texas students and staff — and the recent spike in Dallas County cases — Tyler Street Christian Academy has managed to maintain its record of zero COVID-19 cases on campus for 11 weeks straight.

TSCA opened for the school year on August 12th and follows a strict protocol for allowing students, staff, and visitors onto the campus. Every person must wear a face covering, and each family must submit an electronic health screening and undergo a temperature check each morning before entering the building.

The health screening includes questions about whether the child has been in close contact with anyone who has COVID-19 or if they’ve traveled within the last 14 days. Every campus visitor must also have their temperature taken before entering the school building. TSCA’s administration says proper hygiene and strict adherence to protocol is paramount in keeping students and faculty safe.

Tyler Street Christian Academy uses a HyFlex learning model, which allows for on-campus instruction along with synchronous online learning. TSCA’s COVID-19 Reopening and Compliance Plan can be viewed here in its entirety.
