Stephanie Brieno grew up in Cedar Hill and came to Bishop Dunne from St. Elizabeth of Hungary.

A volleyball player at Dunne, she was on the junior varsity team for two years and the varsity team her junior and senior years. She’s the only girl on the Falcon golf team.

Stephanie is active in three clubs: the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Latinos Unidos, each for four years, and the National Art Honor Society this year. She is president of Latinos Unidos for the 2015-2016 school year, an ambassador for the school, a Eucharistic Minister, and a retreat leader.

She is busy applying to her three top choices for college, which are the University of North Texas, University of Texas at San Antonio, and Baylor. She plans to study biology and business in college and then attend dental school to become a pediatric dentist. Stephanie has been accepted into the Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry summer enrichment programs for the past three years.

Stephanie first came to Bishop Dunne on an 8th grade class visit and she attended a few football games. She describes Bishop Dunne in three words: diverse, family, and spirit.

The Bishop Dunne Golf team participated in the Maypearl Panther Classic on November 16, 2015 at the Golf Club of Dallas located in Oak Cliff. Stephanie, the only female falcon golfer, finished with a 96.

The varsity boys posted their best – lowest - team score in over five years with a combined 329 - good for a fourth place tie.  The four freshman golfers whose scores counted towards the team total were Chance Mulligan (round of 77 and tied for 5th place), Ethan de la Garza (83), Angelo Bianco (84) and Ben Cores (85).  All of these 9th grader golfers were competing in their first high school tournament.

Also competing were juniors Joseph Buford (91) and Landon Munchrath (103).

Head Coach Tom Perez said the team’s good start bodes well for a great golf season.
