The Reeds' dream home at Lake Ridge on Joe Pool Lake.

Texas Rangers executives Jay Miller and Jamie Reed hit home runs when they discovered Lake Ridge and built their dream homes.  Nestled among rolling hills reminiscent of the Texas Hill Country, Lake Ridge at Joe Pool Lake offers a unique landscape unlike any other in DFW with panoramic lake and skyline views.

“The sunsets on Joe Pool Lake are like snowflakes,” said Reed.  “No two are quite the same.”

It was those views, the wildlife and the peace and quiet that attracted both men and their families to Lake Ridge.

Miller, an Executive Vice President for the Texas Rangers, has always dreamed of owning a log home.  Although his home’s exterior is 85% masonry the interior focuses on log cabin features and design details.  Even the steps leading upstairs are made of logs.

“It’s definitely my dream home and I’ve been planning it for 25 years,” Miller said.  “It has the feel like you are on vacation in Colorado.  We wanted land and trees and this location allows you to see wildlife but is still a short drive into the city.”

The Miller’s lot is on an acre and a half with a cul de sac.  With his home just a few weeks away from completion, he and his wife, Joy who have three grown children, are most excited about the huge great room with high-pitched ceilings and the game room with a deck overlooking the woods.

Being near the water was the main selling point for Jamie Reed, Head Trainer for the Rangers.

“My wife and I both grew up in Annapolis, Maryland near Chesapeake Bay,” said Reed.  “We wanted to settle somewhere with a lake view but didn’t know that existed in Dallas.  One day we had our boat out on Joe Pool Lake and saw Lake Ridge.  We were sold.”

Reed and his wife, Jean bought their lot four years ago and have lived in the home for a year.  “We absolutely love it.  It’s our last house and we bought it so when all of our family got together there was plenty of room to celebrate.”

The Reed’s built a three-story home.  The master suite is on the third floor and the main living area is on the second floor with wide-open views of the lake.

“After going to work with 40,000 people, it’s nice to come home to the quiet of Lake Ridge,” said Reed.

Lake Ridge features gated and non-gated neighborhoods with spacious half to two- acre wooded and lake view homesites. Residents enjoy the benefits of the neighboring Tangle Ridge Golf Club, Lynn Creek Marina and over 200 acres of community parks, walking trails and fishing ponds. Centrally located just 20 minutes from Downtown Dallas and 28 miles from Downtown Fort Worth, residents in Lake Ridge are within a short commute to the attractions of both Metroplex downtowns.
